Websites should not feel overwhelming. They should feel clear, exciting, and surprisingly straightforward.
At Giant, we bring over three decades of hands-on experience to the work, and we’ve spent nearly two decades refining a website process that keeps projects calm, collaborative, and on track.
Every project is different, but the path from kickoff to launch follows a proven sequence. Here’s what it looks like when you work with us.
A quick note if you already have a website
If you’re coming to us with an existing site and you’re not sure what to keep, what to fix, or what to rebuild, we start with a Website Audit & Action Plan first.
It gives us a verified inventory, clarity on content, and a realistic scope before we quote or rebuild anything. Then we move into the build process below.

Step 1: Discovery
We don’t start with guesses. We start with questions.
Discovery is a guided conversation that gets to the heart of your business. Not surface-level preferences. The real stuff.
We dig into:
- Your goals (what success looks like)
- Your audience (who this is really for)
- Your offer (what you do and why it matters)
- Your brand personality (how you want to sound and feel)
- The actions your website needs to drive (calls, bookings, purchases, donations)
By the end of Discovery, we’re aligned on what we’re building and why. That alignment becomes the foundation for every decision that follows.

Step 2: Proposal
After Discovery, we turn what we learned into a clear plan.
Our proposals are not just numbers on a page. They are roadmaps you can understand and trust.
You’ll see:
- Scope: what’s included, what’s not, and why
- Timeline: milestones and approvals, with clear expectations
- Investment: transparent pricing, no mystery fees
- Process: how we’ll work together so the project stays clean and predictable
This step eliminates surprises before we begin.

Step 3: Project Launch
Once the proposal is approved, we launch the project with intention.
This is where we set the stage for a smooth build, clear communication, and fast approvals.
At this point, we:
- Finalize the agreement and collect the initial payment
- Hold a kickoff meeting to confirm priorities and answer questions
- Set up your Project Portal for communication, proofs, and approvals
- Send your Website Questionnaire so we can capture important details early
- Establish milestones, so you always know what’s next
- Confirm responsibilities so nothing gets stuck
By the end of Project Launch, you’ll feel momentum. You’ll know what’s happening and when.

Step 4: Sitemap Design and Approval
Before we touch design, we map the structure.
The sitemap is your website’s blueprint. It shows every page, how they connect, and how visitors will find what they need.
This step answers:
- What are the must-have pages?
- What content can be simplified, merged, or removed?
- How do we guide visitors toward the most important actions?
We walk through the sitemap with you and confirm the flow before design begins. When the sitemap is approved, the site stops being a vague idea and starts becoming a real plan.

Step 5: Wireframes
With the sitemap approved, we lay out the bones of each page.
Wireframes are structure only:
- No colors
- No fonts
- No finished imagery
This keeps everyone focused on clarity and usability before aesthetics.
Wireframes answer questions like:
- What shows up first on the page?
- What gets emphasized, and what gets out of the way?
- How do we guide a visitor toward the next step?
- What should be repeated across the site for consistency?
Wireframes are often the first big “aha” moment. You can finally see how the website will work.

Step 6: Visual Design Mockups
Now we bring the brand to life.
Using the approved wireframes, we design full-color mockups that show how your site will look and feel:
- Typography
- Color and tone
- Imagery direction
- Layout polish
- Brand details that make it feel unmistakably yours
This stage is about alignment. The design should support the goal.
If the objective is trust, we keep it clean, confident, and structured. If the objective is inspiration, we bring in bolder visuals and more emotional pacing. Every choice has a job.
Step 7: Build the Site
With the design approved, we build.
This is where we translate mockups into a fast, responsive website that works across devices.
We handle:
- Development and layout build
- Content migration or content entry
- Integrations (e-commerce, booking, forms, email, donations, and more)
- Basic SEO setup and performance best practices
- QA across devices and browsers
Before launch, we test thoroughly. We click every button, test every form, and pressure-test the experience. If something isn’t working, it doesn’t ship.
After launch, we provide training and support so you can confidently manage the site moving forward.
Why Our Process Works
Most website projects go sideways for one reason.
No roadmap.
When structure is unclear, approvals get messy, timelines slip, and the site becomes a pile of unfinished decisions.
Our process creates:
- Clear milestones
- Clean decision points
- Strong structure before visual polish
- A calmer experience for everyone involved
The result is not just a nice-looking website. It’s a tool that makes your business easier to find, trust, and buy from.
